Woman In Critical Condition After Being Hit By Vehicle Crossing Street In Northern Westchester

A 61-year-old woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Route 121 in Northern Westchester with her bicycle, state police said.

The incident took place around 6:37 p.m. Wednesday when the woman was attempting to cross Route 121 in Lewisboro in the hamlet of Cross River when she was struck by a northbound car, said Trooper AJ Hicks, spokesman for the New York State Police.

The woman was transported to Westchester Medical Center where she is in critical condition on Thursday, Hicks said.

The driver of the car was also transported to the hospital for evaluation.

The woman's name and hometown have not been released.
